These cards are the first design by The Brainchild’s newest team member Naomi Shirvington.
If you’re here you’ve no doubt seen her card designs and are looking for the design journey, from concept to creation. We would love it if you read through this article and took the time to give some honest and constructive feedback so she can learn and excel in this new role!
Design Brief
To design a collection of business cards to send to our nearest and dearest supported clients. It is important for us to maintain a connection in real life, keeping a tradition like sending physical cards seems minor but it is one little thing we can do to reach out and express our gratitude for the past year working alongside incredible small businesses.
As a digital studio, The Brainchild aims to maintain the connection, the realness and celebrating the wins and lessons learnt along the way with you IRL.
Initial Concept
Initially Naomi started mocking up designs in Canva using The Brainchild’s fonts and colours to create some conceptual designs. These can be viewed here.
Feedback
The designs were subtle and not as festive or eye catching as required so visual design inspiration was supplied (as above)
Second Refinement
As soon as Naomi had the visual guides she was able to start creating in alignment and started designing the custom tartan. Sourcing a nice grain to overlay the design was a little challenge she overcame. The typography needed a collaborative approach to achieve balance within the design.
Final
Naomi has successfully designed a lovely range of company greeting cards with a clever QR inclusion for recipients to leave thoughtful feedback on the back page.
Now, I will pass it over to you, dear reader – please leave your constructive words for Naomi below in the feedback form.
Thank you so much – you guys rock!
